However last week was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. Have previously dined here and found it to be a pleasant experience. It’s a charming restaurant & worth another visit. The Rueben sandwich variation is interesting, but unfortunately it was a sloppy sandwich and the fish was overwhelmed with the toppings. The other person had the Fish Rueben Sandwich (grilled haddock, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on Marble Rye). Unfortunately the burger was charred & dry, perhaps it was cooked on an open flame? The Cole Slaw was EXCELLENT - 5 Stars!!!!! Wished for a larger side of Cole Slaw. ![]() It was ordered Well Done but NOT charred. I had the Berkshire Burger with American Cheese & a slice of tomato. Our server Rachel was pleasant & the service good. When we arrived, the greeting was warm and we were seated promptly. a popular restaurant so best to get there early. The restaurant is charming with a nautical theme & has both inside & outdoor seating. It’s located at the right end of the boardwalk by the water at Lake Sumter Landing. Moreġst visit to the Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille in The Villages, FL. After eating you can walk along the lakeside pier, enjoy the breeze or walk into nearby Market Square for shopping or starting around 5 or so, live entertainment. They look like handstitched nautical designs. Noise level can be high! An unexpected visual treat is the Villeroy and Bosch tiles in the restrooms. There's a u-shaped bar with lots of TVs to look at, but most people seem to want to talk to their friends. The restaurant is decorated in restful blues and grays. Staff are friendly, cheerful, and thoughtful. Judging by some of the entrees we saw going by, you can definitely eat well here! The banana split looked like it needed a few friends to share as does their pirate booty bloody mary (it's a meal plus a drink all in one). Our rolls were well filled with fresh lobster salad. We had the lunch basket special: a lobster roll, fries (or choice of another side), and coleslaw. Most tables have views of Lake Sumter, a manmade, but still pleasant lake.
